St Mary's Church Hall (Fridays)

Brighton Jive run 'Jive' classes for all levels at St Mary's on Fridays. Map.

The price per class is about �6 but you must book a course of classes in advance.

They don't state exactly what sort of 'Jive' it is they teach, except to say it is '1940s Jive'. To my knowledge, that would be the Lindyhop then. However they never use the term Lindyhop, so it's not clear.

Patcham Memorial Hall (Tuesdays)

Drop in classes by Bal-Swing Jive at Patcham Memorial Hall. Map.

Lindyhop beginners 7pm, Bal-swing all levels 8pm, Lindyhop/Shag improvers/intermediates 9pm.

Brighton Unitarian Church (Wednesdays)

Lindyhop beginner courses run by Sussex Swing at the Unitarian church. Map.

Class at 7.30pm. Freestyle 8.30pm to 10pm.

Book in advance. �6 per lesson.

40s and 50s swing music. No bar, bring your own drinks. 8pm - 11:30pm on certain designated Saturdays. �7.

One off event by Bal-Swing Jive. Map.

Lindyhop lesson 6.30pm, club 7.30pm to 11pm. People dress up for this 40s, 50s and WW2 style. No bar, bring your alcohol �7.

Swing

Compared to swing in London or even salsa in Brighton there is very little swing dancing in the city, so the various swing dances have been combined onto this one page.
